free personal web page hostingWhat is the best free internet host for simple personal web pages?

I'd like to get a web page to promote my business, but I don't want to pay for a separate domain. I'm leaning towards Geocities or maybe freewebs, but I would like more input. The most important qualities are:
~free
~fast-loading
~easy to remember address
~attractive, practical format options
~limited advertising and pop-ups
Any new site suggestions are welcome!
Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage by FTPing webpages authored by DreamWeaver, NotePad, Word, or FrontPage.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe… name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of a homepage URfree personal web page hostingL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!
i usually make them on dreamweaver or even notepad but
unless you understand computers rather well you may struggle but
i have used www.wetpaint.com it seems to be interesting lots of options easy to remember not many adverts and offersr users to register with your websites and you can provide diffrent levels of administration
I haven't used Geocities in a very, very long time, but another alternative is:

All you need is a Google account, and I think you're pretty much good to go. I've used it for my own personal website, and it seems pretty straightforward to use to create simple web sites. Plus, there are no ads or pop ups!

"Free Domains" here ---
Well the key is an easy to remember address. If you don't mind paying $1.99 for your own .info address, you can buy a any .info address you want (as long as it's available of course) which will come wifree personal web page hostingth free hosting, that's fast, and it's doesn't have any pop-ups. Only a single google ad bar, so it won't slow it down. Check it out here http://domains.cenfus.com. Check out free extras at the bottom.

You mentioned you didn't want to buy a separate domain. You could forward your existing domain or setup the new site as a sub domain. Either way $2 isn't bad for a year of hosting.
