I'd like to get a web page to promote my business, but I don't want to pay for a separate domain. I'm leaning towards Geocities or maybe freewebs, but I would like more input. The most important qualities are:

unless you understand computers rather well you may struggle but
i have used www.wetpaint.com it seems to be interesting lots of options easy to remember not many adverts and offersr users to register with your websites and you can provide diffrent levels of administration

All you need is a Google account, and I think you're pretty much good to go. I've used it for my own personal website, and it seems pretty straightforward to use to create simple web sites. Plus, there are no ads or pop ups!

Well the key is an easy to remember address. If you don't mind paying $1.99 for your own .info address, you can buy a any .info address you want (as long as it's available of course) which will come wifree personal web page hostingth free hosting, that's fast, and it's doesn't have any pop-ups. You mentioned you didn't want to buy a separate domain. You could forward your existing domain or setup the new site as a sub domain. Either way $2 isn't bad for a year of hosting.

Go with blogger, they allow you to bring your own domain name and they will host it on their server for free. It's called custom domains with blogger, free hosting, free templates, free websites!
