It's your connection. I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security for a few years and how fast the first update goes depends on the connection. My home connkaspersky internet security 2010ection is fast so it only takes a few minutes but I do remember when my Mom had some slow DSL service and it took a long time, maybe 30 minutes or more.
