limewire software indexNo more limewire. what happens now?

in case you haven't heard they shut down limewire (link below). i mean so what? there are countless numbers of sites that allows illegal downloading still as well as software that lets you to convert video feeds into mp3 format, and even apps on our android phone that allow us to download as many tunes as we want. so how does ousting limewire help anything at this point? any experts here????

I'm not an expert, but I can tell you that someone will always come in and take their place. They are basically trying to take down the most mainstream nalimewire software indexmes so that it will scare the majority of the others into stopping the illegal practices, and it most likely will scare some, but not all. One will fall, and antother will take its place as it has been for years.
Hi there,

Well if i have to be honest, all they have done by closing the site is save loads of people from malware and other crap. All Limewire was was a bunch of randpom viruses. Considering the websites that are on offer to use in this day and age, Limewire was probably one of the worst you could have picked.

I agree with the climewire software indexlosure of the site and know that many people will now beable to go to far less dangerous sites and get their stuff.

If cutting off the supply won't work, they'll go after the demand. More lawsuits against downloaders, and harsher penalties. If a few dozen teenagers spend a month or so in jail for illegal downloading, others may be scared straight.
It doesn't help. Like you said, there's SO many other websites that people use. I guess this is just the beginning, the rest will fall like domino's...
